Initial Setup: Deploying the Promethium Intelligent Edge​

Promethium uses a hybrid architecture to ensure enterprise-grade privacy, security, and performance. This begins with the deployment of the Promethium Intelligent Edge — a cloud-native component that is installed within your organization’s cloud environment.

Why Deploy the Intelligent Edge?​

The Intelligent Edge is responsible for:

  • Executing queries locally against your connected data sources
  • Crawling and processing technical metadata
  • Managing data pipelines and materialization tasks

This ensures that:

  • All data access stays entirely within your private corporate network
  • No data is sent to the Promethium Control Plane
  • Only metadata, control signals, and application telemetry (e.g., SQL definitions, configuration settings) traverse to Promethium’s Control Plane

🛡️ Promethium is designed from the ground up for data privacy and network isolation. Data never leaves your infrastructure unless explicitly configured.
